Team Read Ahead for the 2019 United Airlines NYC Half
Every child needs a champion, so I'm running 13.1 miles for Read Ahead on March 17th!
Please support me as I run this year's United Airlines NYC Half Marathon on behalf of Read Ahead, an organization that pairs over 1,000 New
York City public school children with caring mentors who can help them develop the social-emotional skills essential for academic and
life-long success.
This is my fourth year as a Read Ahead mentor, and this year I have been reading with Luisa, a 4th grade student.
Children need positive adult role models to thrive. Young people who are mentored -- especially those challenged by poverty -- are
more likely to have better school attendance and participation, to develop the motivation and skills they need for success in school
and in life, and to enroll in college. This year, I am running the 2019 United Airlines NYC Half Marathon on behalf of Read Ahead so that more
students like Luisa can have the opportunity to be mentored.
Every dollar you donate has a direct impact on Read Ahead's ability to serve high-need schools in New York City - thank you for your
support!
